Caramel Popcorn

16 cups popcorn (2/3 cups kernals)

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup light Karo syrup

1 stick margarine or butter 

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp baking soda

Wax paper

Put popcorn in brown grocery bag. In microwave brown and combine brown sugar, Karo, margarine/butter, and salt for 2 minutes. Stir well. Mic for 3 more minutes, stopping to stir after each minute. Add vanilla and baking soda. It gets frothy and thick like molasses, stir well. 

Pour over popcorn. Shake well. Fold bag to fit in microwave, on high for 1 minute.  Shake well again. Mic 1 more minute. Shake. Mic 30 seconds. Shake. Mic for last 30 seconds. Shake shake shake. 

Lay wax paper on counter. Spread popcorn on counter over wax paper to cool. Separate kernels from each other. Lasts two weeks. Watch your teeth. Enjoy!
